
Piecebook Reloaded: Rare Graffiti Drawings
Featuring a selection of awesome graffiti from the black books of super-powered artists, the recently released Piecebook Reloaded: Rare Graffiti Drawings 1985–2005 — compiled by Sacha Jenkins and David Villorente — shows the work of more than fifty graffiti icons and is an eye-popping throwback to the days before everything offline was online and art was a statement rather than a dollar grabbing business.

World’s tallest Arch bridge, Dubai
Not content with unveiling the world’s tallest building, nearly bankrupt Dubai is also constructing the world’s tallest Arch bridge. Designed by New York architects, Fxfowle, the bridge, which is scheduled to be completed in 2012, will be one mile long, 670 feet tall, and will carry more than 2,000 vehicles an hour in each direction.

Who wouldn’t want one of these to escape the urban bustle on? Camper Bike is a functioning sculptural piece by artist Kevin Cyr which was built in April 2008 and has since become the subject of a series of his paintings. Read more

The Cars frontman Ric Ocasek will debut his first solo art exhibition, Noise Colored Party, at the Mahan Gallery, in Columbus on March 6. The two-month exhibition will feature his artwork from the 1980s onwards and includes drawings with pen, colored pencils and markers, digital photo collages and mixed media paintings.

Greg Brotherton creates his sculptures by transforming such common-place objects as vacuum cleaners, mixers and cars, into fantastic interpretations of myth and imagination. With an innate sense of structure and balance, Brotherton crafts surprisingly organic shapes using steel, glass and wood. The strength and fluidity that dominates both his figurative and abstract work is dictated by the process and evolves from a subconscious mechanistic state. Read more
