Trust the Japanese to endorse this crazy new product, a Marriage Hunting Bra by Triumph. Is it the start of some bizarre trend for single girls waiting to wed? It features a marriage countdown clock, showing the deadline for the wearer to get to the altar. When an engagement ring is inserted between the cups, the clock stops ticking and, surprise, surprise, music plays. The song? Here Comes The Bride, of course.
Ok, so we all know that low-rider pants are back in again, but these bikini jeans by Japanese fashion label, Sanna Brazil (go figure!), are taking it all that little bit too far. Apparently they combine ‘ultra low-cut blue jeans with an integrated string bikini bottom, with a super sexy yet extremely flattering’ fit. But all I can think of is chafing. Damn! They retail for around US$90.

Crimea X is the coming together of two offbeat, disparate characters, DJ Rocca (Ajello, Super Sonic Lovers, Maffia Sound System) and Jukka Reverberi from 90s Italian glam cult rockers, Giardini di Mirò, who have often have been compared with the sound of Mogwai, Arab Strap, and Godspeed You! Black Emperor. We asked them about their favourite music and they started with The Smiths song, Ask [listen below] ‘I saw them playing live on Italian TV. Sculptor George W. Hart recently made a geometric piece out of identical, laser-cut wood pieces called Frabjous, taken from Lewis Carroll’s poem, The Jaberwocky. Hart provides a PDF of the template he used to cut the pieces, which you can use to make your own.

Peter Nalitch is Russia’s answer to Manu Chao. His video for the song Guitar is a Borat-like jab at low-budget, post-Soviet awkwardness — absurd English lyrics, Eurotrash earnestness, bad wipes, and cheap subtitles. But its tongue-in-cheekness is quite apparent, and the song is disarmingly catchy and romantic.
Hmmm, I don’t know if it’s the extra strong coffee I’m gulping down, or that faintest slither of feel good sunshine that’s creeping through the blinds, but this song is making me feel mildly euphoric, and that kinda works right now. Play it loud. Play it through headphones. And imagine you’re decked out in day glo polyester with a dramatic burst of velvet lining. Damn, my feet just can’t stop from dancin’.

I love this track by London based rock group, Scanners, which is off their latest album, Submarine. Having toured with acts such as The Horrors, The Wedding Present, The Charlatans, Electric Six, and Juliette & The Licks, Scanners could well blow up in 2010. Figuratively speaking, not literally. No, that wouldn’t be fun.
