Working around the theme, Small is Beautiful, this eco-friendly mobile home design by Slovakia-based Nice Architects is totally self-sufficient in regards to energy, water and waste, and at 270 sq feet, is big enough to provide comfortable living space for two people. Very nice indeed.

We asked New York-based photographer Baldomero Fernandez about his Cuba series and whether there was a particular mood that he was looking to capture: ‘Usually I tend to photograph quiet scenes that are empty and have a feeling of solitude. The surreal part that comes through is usually more because of anachronisms, or maybe something is just out of place. It’s not straightforward surrealism. When I did the Master Cleanse diet a few years ago — the one where you consume nothing but lemon juice, maple syrup, and cayenne pepper for ten days — I sat at work looking at pictures of food as if they were porn. Scanwiches would have gotten me hot and bothered like nothing else.
I spent the formative first six years of my life in Wellington, New Zealand, a beautiful windswept city framed by a magnificent harbour in one direction and a stunning collection of green, rolling hills in the other. It was here, on a return visit many years later and deep amongst the clipped accents and ruddy faces of the weather-beaten locals, that I stumbled upon the vast catalogue of the then Dunedin based record label Flying Nun.
