Sophie Blackall’s Missed Connections series
Brooklyn-based illustrator Sophie Blackall has been using the Craigslist as inspiration for her Missed Connections series. The results are a little precious, and some of the original postings verge on being creepy, but they should please mumblecore and McSweeney’s fans.

Born in a sub-provincial city of China, and raised in the suburbs of Northern California, Brooklyn-based artist Jing Wei attended the Rhode Island School of Design where she ‘developed a great affinity for printmaking, snow, and pizza’.
I’ve been a huge fan of Brooklyn illustrator Rachel Domm’s work since we went to school together and she would painstakingly paint and silkscreen all of her images. It’s since evolved into beautiful, textured, smartly layered graphic images, but with the printmaking influence still clearly evident.
Though you may know him as the driving force behind the amazing Ghostshrimp, his name is actually Dan James. To reminisce a little, Dan and I both attended Brooklyn’s Pratt College around the same time and he lived with a good friend of mine in our sophomore year. I’m totally addicted to a tape I downloaded from Awesome Tapes from Africa by Onipa Nua. The Ghanan street musician has since passed away, but hopefully he’s somewhere smiling knowing that his tunes make me smile as well.

Méduse is a self-initiated project that I started while studying in London. I was printing a jellyfish inspired series of t-shirts and bags which I was selling or giving to friends. The concept has evolved a bit since then. I try to find time to launch two series’ a year, available only online.
