I’m a Swedish illustrator based in London. At first glance my work looks sweet and innocent; it’s filled with pastel colours and cute animals. But some of the pieces also have darker themes in them. Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared animation
I’ve been a fan of This Is It Collective’s work since I saw their first video, Bad Things That Could Happen. This Is It is a collective of illustrators, animators, artists and designers based in London and they produce colourful, well-designed animations and videos. This one in particular made me snigger with joy.
Oddities abound at the Wellcome Collection London
Napoleon Bonaparte’s toothbrush, Charles Darwin’s walking stick, Lord Nelson’s razor, pieces of tattoed human skin from 1850, male anti-masturbation devices from 1880 … all those pieces are in the Wellcome Collection permanent exhibition in London. Half morbid and half historic, they have excellent temporary exhibitions, but their permanent one is worth the visit to this not very famous museum.

In early 1965, LIFE photographer Bill Ray spent several weeks with The Hells Angels. Ray recalls his days and nights with Buzzard, Hambone, Big D, and other Angels (and their ‘old ladies’) at a time when the roar of Harleys and the sight of long-haired bikers was still new, alien, and for the average, law-abiding citizen, simply terrifying. We checked in recently with illustrator Josh Cochran and asked him how he kept the creative process fresh and stimulating, despite producing so much new work: ‘I try hard to keep pushing new ideas in my work. Of course, there are often times when I feel tired and stale and produce work that isn’t that isn’t challenging. Generally, though, I try to keep building on things I’ve accomplished in my work. To me, that’s what keeps my work consistent as well gives me room to grow. After a while a certain direction will feel boring to me and I’ll start pushing out to try something different’. Read more

This is a simple blog featuring photos of Charlie, a coyote who lives with a person and some other animals. There are a lot of cute animal photoblogs out there, but this one is more concerned with motion, elegance, outdoor scenery, and frequent use of Old West-y sepia tones that highlight Charlie’s amazing fur texture. I’ve just come across the music of Minneapolis band Cloud Cult, and their song Chemicals Collide in particular. Their sound is a mix of scratchy acoustic guitar riffs mixed in with staccato beats and airy harmonies, all infused with a beautiful sense of lyrical melancholy. Read more

Camper Together fuses the references and inspirations from Willhelm latest collection with Campers’ quality production techniques.
