ouTable
ouTable is a clever, often humorous, collection of conceptual plastic intended for outdoor dining. Designed by the brilliant Israeli-based firm, d-Vision, the project was driven by the desire to reflect the simple beauty of eating outdoors with friends or family. The collection also speaks to an understanding of the relationship between man and nature, with varying shapes and sizes finding their way into many pieces to echo the uniqueness of the environment.
Among the favorites in the series is a fruit bowl with incongruent spaces for changing weights and dimensions to fit different produce, a cutlery collection that necessitates finding your own stick to serve as the handle, and a zipper vase that adjusts itself according to your flower arrangement needs.

The philosophy of a beginning is to me, a wonderful concept. I really enjoy flicking through the back catalogues of a musician and discovering their origin, then tracing their musical journey to the present. So for American-born, Paris-based sister duo CocoRosie, who released their third album The Adventure of Ghosthouse and Stillborn to much acclaim, making the trip to their beginnings is more than worth the journey: their debut album, Le Maison de Mon Reve (released back in 2004) was a gentle stroll through their pop and classical influences, which melt together seamlessly into a backdrop for their unique and enchanting voices.
We ran ourselves ragged driving from Baltimore to Portland in 48 hours flat, and by the time we were almost done with our West Coast tour in LA, we were exhausted, stinky, and broke. At moments like these, a little imported sheep’s milk cheese does wonders, which is why we b-lined it to The Cheese Store of Silverlake right after we downed our espresso shots at Intelligentsia right next door. Channeling Justin Timberlake and Alan Vega, or both or neither, Spanish Dancer is on his own axis, spinning to the BPM of a lost drum. At one point, between moving back and forth between Providence, Rhode Island and Miami, Florida, he discovered punk and his uncle bought him a ratty 50 dollar Cruise VMI guitar to mess around with. Subsequently, Spanish Dancer material is a little snarky, self-aware, and fun, while still retaining all the complex spastic freakout moments of his prior band, A Trillion Barnacle Lapse. His debut album, Burned Up, Bred High, is out now and we have the lead single, The Hustler [listen below], available for free download via the Music Download section of the Lost At E Minor site.
