Check out Calvin Harris‘ Human Synthesizer, made of women in bikinis. Using some kind of special ink painted on their hands, and with conductive pads on the floor, the women trigger the sounds in the song. The comments on the Creative Review blog sum this project up perfectly.

Haha, I was a bit offended at the whole misogynist idea (and the lame dance music) until I read the recommended comments on the CR blog. Those cheered me up.
