Water gun fight in Boston
Banditos Misteriosos, an urban improv group similar to Improv Everywhere, is scheduled to have one of the largest water gun fights ever in Boston on August 22, expecting more than last year’s 300 people. Anyone can enlist and fight for the cause, which no one actually knows.

Improv Everywhere’s Food Court Musical
Improv Everywhere strikes again with a spontaneous musical in a Los Angeles mall. Wireless microphones hooked up to the mall’s PA system ensured the feeding masses didn’t slip into Cinnabon-induced comas until after the show was over. Note especially the angry dude in sunglasses at about 2:51 — apparently he thinks nothing can ever top Rent.

The historical Old South Meeting House Clock has been restored in Boston. It’s been running since the Boston Tea Party and the Boston Massacre. Craftsman David Webb took part in the rebuilding of the clock that is a big piece in the history of Boston.
The Middle East Club, Cambridge
If you happen to find yourself in the trendy Harvard Square area in Cambridge with a hot date and nowhere to go, then you should head down to The Middle East Club. Not only does it own the restaurant ZuZu next door, but head past the perfect mural on the wall and downstairs or upstairs, and you’ll witness great live performances from indie bands, jazz bands, electro bands, you name it, all filled with college aged peeps to cool and wise thirty-somethings.

I haven’t been this excited by a band in a long time. Florida’s Black Kids have crept under — and now over — the radar through a demo and some serious internet buzz from NME and Pitchfork. Not only are they ridiculously good, they’ve also offered their four-song demo — Wizard of Ahhh’s — for free on their MySpace page. Sweet.

Converse kicks off its hundredth anniversary with 1HUND(RED), a special artist series with proceeds going to the Global Fund.
