Aquabumps captures Bondi at its best
Bondi legend Eugene Tan runs the Aquabumps newsletter, a daily dose of surf photography from the beautiful shores of Sydney’s most iconic beach. This particular shot, looking out over the pool, was taken on a day when, according to Tan, ‘it was far from perfect, with a flanking South East onshore putting some wobbles in the already choppy conditions’.

Our friends over at Australian-surf photography site, Aquabumps, published this astonishing series of photos the other day with the caption: ‘I’ve always wanted to get the tinnie out, drive out to a dead whale, which is being mauled by sharks, in the middle of the Indian ocean off Rotto, in my jeans of course, then jump on the whale’s back and pat the sharks. Filmmaker creates LEGO stop motion to propose to girlfriend
Now, this is one for the ages: back in 2010, Atlanta film-maker Walter Thompson created a jaw-dropping LEGO stop motion to propose to Nealey Dozier, his girlfriend of four years. The video took 22 hours of shooting and some 2,600 pictures to splice together, a small sacrifice to pay for years of happiness together. Right? Right! Oh, and she said yes. Bonus.

On my recent visit to Barcelona, my love for Animal Farm led me to the Plaça de Geroge Orwell. There I discovered Oviso. The tiny café features hand painted walls and low wooden benches, where inhabitants enjoy great coffee for €1 and discuss music, beer, photography and the hordes of tourists that bustle just beyond the quiet square.

Australian label Eliza Clare/Adornus is the creative project of Samantha Grant, Sally Wilson and Emma Jackson and is named after Sarah Eliza Clare, a noted couturier in Sydney during the 1930s and 40s who was actively involved in the fashion industry until her early 70s. Read more
