The Fox and the Child movie trailer
by Sometimes it’s best to keep it simple, and that’s certainly true for this disarmingly uncomplicated story of a friendship between a young child and a wild fox. This film is a subtle reminder of the beauty of nature, without ever over-stressing the point. The forest setting is breathtakingly rendered throughout the piece, and scenes involving the fox and the child are mesmerizing, as the child manages to gain the trust of the wild animal. Broader themes pepper the piece, but these are so seamlessly incorporated into the main narrative that they never interrupt the flow. A lovely meditation of a film.

A delightful uncomfortable film, told from the point of view of a broken woman. Kevin’s just not right, and that’s obvious from the outset as mother Eva battles to bring him up in a world where the onus is put squarely back on the mother. The intensity is poured on throughout, as tragedy seems imminent. Read more

Musicians in Jacksonville, Florida, often plop themselves amongst breakfasting families to nurse their hangovers at the Fox Restaurant. They may be incredibly eccentric, but these ten inch platforms are physical proof that it is actually possible to create somewhat aesthetically pleasing heels out of elephant faeces. UK-based artist INSA designed the shoes as part of a recent art exhibit at Tate Britain which features the individual work of various artists responding to Chris Ofili’s controversial The Holy Mary elephant dung painting made fifteen years ago.

Baltimore Mural by Josh Van Horne
My friend Josh Van Horne, a local Baltimore artist, did this amazing mural in our neighborhood that depicts the history of this warehouse-laden area.
Made from 100 percent organic cotton and eco-friendly, this super soft tee celebrates a sinister world of kaleidoscopic colours and ripples of psychedelia, of serenading Queens, of dancing flamingos, of unimaginable euphoria.
