I have such a soft spot for all things adorable. That most certainly includes the work of artist Tamar Mogendorff. Her stitched creations are a bit The Nightmare Before Christmas and a tad Raggedy Anne, but what I wouldn’t give to have a few of these strewn throughout my apartment.

Despite his name, I’m guessing German illustrator Frederik Jurk must be a cool guy because his images, his limited palette and gorgeous textured line work are awesome.
I was immediately taken with the work of California artist Zack Paul. Especially the images created on various bits of driftwood and found natural objects. The most perfect backdrop to his clean, geometric images.

A talent for mixed media and a good eye for detail has won London designer Andy Forshaw clients such as Dazed and Confused, Vice, and TimeOut. He’s just finished illustrating a mammoth book for Bloomsbury UK entitled What On Earth Happened which will be released worldwide this Autumn.
Sometimes it’s good to be hit with a reality check on just how good most of us have it today. These dramatic colour photos by photographers of the Farm Security Administration were taken in Depression-era America and serve as a stark reminder of a yesteryear where resilience and adaptability were far more vital than having access to the latest Apple product. Austin band The Low Lows are one of my most prized finds of the year so far. It’s introspective music — staggered harmonies delivered by a distant, agonised voice that filters through a wall of tranquil guitar distortion and measured drumming. Every instrument carries a powerful emotion, sometimes keeping their distance from one another, floating up and around the airwaves, and other times colliding and crashing back to earth.

They may be incredibly eccentric, but these ten inch platforms are physical proof that it is actually possible to create somewhat aesthetically pleasing heels out of elephant faeces. UK-based artist INSA designed the shoes as part of a recent art exhibit at Tate Britain which features the individual work of various artists responding to Chris Ofili’s controversial The Holy Mary elephant dung painting made fifteen years ago.

Liberty recently discovered Tamar Mogendorff too! We have just added the birdcages to the website, as well as some of her too-cute birdhouses. We’re crazy for print fabrics anyway, but love how Tamar has translated them into quicky, collectable pieces of art.
