Major Lazer also have a cool iPhone app, too:
iDrum: Major Lazer lets you instantly remix elements from the new album, Guns Don’t Kill People … Lazers Do, produced by dancefloor innovators Diplo and Switch along with lazer-armed commando Major Lazer. With a huge arsenal of dancehall drums, laser blasts, instrument hits, sound effects and vocal samples, iDrum: Major Lazer is the ultimate zombie-fighting accessory. Take control and re-arrange rhythms, drums, effects and more from songs on the album. Or use the raw drums, effects and instrument sounds to make your own musical creations. iDrum’s simple interface lets you build beats layer by layer by tapping the touch screen. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never made a beat before, with iDrum, you can create music with simple shapes and color combinations that let you visualize the rhythm.

Super hyped producers, Diplo & Switch, have joined forces as Major Lazer to record a thumping album called Guns Don’t Kill People, Lazer’s Do. Already responsible for pioneering the hottest ghetto sounds — including tracks for M.I.A and Santigold — the pair’s genre-mashing debut will be released in June on New York label, Downtown, home to Santigold, Spank Rock, and Kid Sister. We have an MP3 from the album, Hold The Line, available for free download in our Music Download section, which is in the third column of the Lost At E Minor site.

If you ever asked for a brag-worthy souvenir as a kid, only to have your dreams crushed by some play it safe relative, then chances are they brought you back a tourist tee instead. Now, it may not have cemented your status as the coolest kid in school, and you certainly couldn’t take it into show-and-tell. But by the looks of Melbourne label Limedrop, you might have been onto something. Their latest collection, Places I’ve Never Been, takes inspiration from the vintage tourist t shirts they’ve collected over the years, and the cities they aspire to visit. Slip into nomad mode wearing featherweight fabrics, and travel to faraway lands without even leaving your hood. Who knew dreaming about travel could be so fun? Read more

I’ve got a couple of killer reasons and need a lazer to seal to the deal….
-Just got out of college, haven’t bought (or even been able to buy) new clothes & gear in YEARS
-Vinyl Night. Just moved to a new town and a group of friends have Vinyl Night every wednesday. People gather, spill wine, and put felt to wax. I don’t have any records to bring (yet) and Major Lazer would probably get some folks out of there seats and moving around
-Lost At E Minor has inspired me countless times since I stumbled upon your site, and I need to pass that on to others…

Because I also spell las(z)er with a ‘z’

I need this shirt because it’s going to be zombie night in my small Halifax town real soon, and if I can’t have a real laZer to kill the undead, at least I’ll have this shirt when i get bitten and have to join the brain-hungry hordes.
Oh Lost at E Minor, continue to inspire me, my life has been so good with you in it!

You give it to me or will burn your asses, because i have lasers!

This would really help restore my street cred. Ever since I crapped my shorts on the Cecil’s dancefloor, people just don’t respect. Help me, Major Lazer!
Tim Engelbrecht (german) said | 30 June, 2009
so i shoot things right, with guns, rabbits, foxes and other pests. there is usually blood everywhere. and when i tell people, they spit on me because i use a gun! but they don’t understand! they never understand! these narrow minded nuns on heat just don’t get that guns don’t kill people, lazers do. i think by wearing this shirt for the rest of my life it will reinforce my argument and counter those fools who have a doodle for a face! what do you say then? thanks minor. (i am also clinically obsessed with major lazer, help ease my pain)
Julie Pinzur said | 30 June, 2009
This Major Lazer shirt is amazing. I want it because it reflects the essence of my soul and lasers are always my first choice of weaponry. Besides those two reasons, t-shirts just look really good on me. Pick me!!
lachy said | 30 June, 2009
being a skinny white boy its pretty unrealistic that i’m carrying a gun around… but a lazer!
wearing this shirt would finally give me some long awaited scare factor

two men enter…one man leaves. with the t-shirt.
oh, and i’m a woman…but you get the point.

I want the prize pack because the only way to jam out to the pulsating afro-nasty beats of Major Lazer is the have the shirt. The music reminds me a wild ride through the Amazon, while the shirt reminds me of the time I was a Storm Trooper in Star Wars and the vinyl reminds me of those warm fuzzy feelings you get when the record skips.

I should have it because I am actually a female vulcan and my 7 year cycle is ending soon, so I need to look attractive, yet intimidating.

On those rare occasions when I feel the need to treat myself to an absolutely mind (and wallet) blowing meal, I love to come here. The restaurant is housed in an old diner (the old trailer style diners) which makes for some fun ambiance. Plus, the menu changes every week, so there’s never a written menu. The waiter comes out with a pen and writes the entire menu down on the butcher paper covering your table. Aside from all that, the food is absolutely unbelievable!

I got to check out Extra Golden the other night at the Floristree in the H & H Building in downtown Baltimore. Despite a bill of heady, contemplative, experimental music that preceded the DC-based band, the crowd was chomping at the bit to see them when they finally hit the stage well past 1am. It’s still cold and rainy here in Charm City, but these guys made it feel like summer with their sunny blend of Kenyan benga music and guitar-driven psych rock.

Scanners’ new single Salvation
I love this track by London based rock group, Scanners, which is off their latest album, Submarine. Having toured with acts such as The Horrors, The Wedding Present, The Charlatans, Electric Six, and Juliette & The Licks, Scanners could well blow up in 2010. Figuratively speaking, not literally. No, that wouldn’t be fun.
