
Kogi Korean BBQ To-Go
If you haven’t yet heard, Los Angelinos are hooked on Kogi. This ever-moving Korean BBQ taco truck has quickly become a cult favorite among locals for its mouth-watering fusion of Mexican and Korean flavors. Here, tofu is marinated in red chili vinaigrette, while short ribs are saturated in a red, sesame chili salsa. But it’s not just the food that fans rave about: it’s the concept behind Kogi that has ignited such a buzz.
This is, quintessentially, fusion street food for a new generation. Not only has Kogi’s rise to LA-culinary stardom been accredited to food bloggers who were initially invited by its chefs to review their creations, but the truck also boasts over 30,000-plus Twitter followers. Every few hours Kogi changes locations, traversing the streets of LA and Twittering its coordinates along the way. While not everyone is convinced the truck is worth the hype, there are enough fans that lines last for hours. At 2$ a pop for tacos and burritos, it’s definitely worth the try.
