|Jinyoung Yoon studied photography at Arizona State University and is now based in Seoul. Of this project, she says, ‘I seek what is at the boundary of grotesque and beautiful. The ambiguous feeling that is both repulsive and attractive at the same time reminds me of the predicament we face in everyday life, including the relationships we get involved in’.

Seoul’s Interactive Xylophone Bike Path
Lookie here! A bike path in Seoul that plays music as people ride over it. The path is made of planks of wood of varying lengths that trigger little hammers when people ride over them, creating little percussive notes. Happy fun place yay!
Korean architects, Mass Studies, have attacked the idea of housing typology in this project for a Seoul Commune in the year 2026. The buildings are comprised of public and private cells; technology is harnessed to make the private cells more private and the public cells more public. I haven’t been this excited by a band in a long time. Florida’s Black Kids have crept under — and now over — the radar through a demo and some serious internet buzz from NME and Pitchfork. Not only are they ridiculously good, they’ve also offered their four-song demo — Wizard of Ahhh’s — for free on their MySpace page. Sweet.

The return of the Brionvega rr226
Italian brand Brionvega has resurrected the classy Radiofonografio piece first created in 1965. The updated version is just like the original turntable/radio unit, but also has a CD/DVD player.
Inspired by the unique digital clock apps created by the designer, Sean Zoega, the i-toc watch is a colorful physical manifestation of digital ideas featuring bespoke two-disc Japan quartz movement. The outer gradient displays the minutes while the inner gradient shows the hours. The rings interact, creating an ever-changing pattern of design and colour.
