David Griggs doesn’t want you to feel comfortable. His paintings often begin with detailed images of a simple, arresting beauty, which is then subverted with graffiti or scribbles. He’s an artist that quite clearly works with the darker sides of humanity, as his pieces often contain violent imagery. His work also regularly deals with contemporary politics and current issues.
