Reed KD’s Winding Road
by Reed KD has spent the past three years between two places: his VW Vanagon, which he lived out of in 2007 and 2008, and his Santa Cruz bedroom, where he recorded his new album, In Case The Comet Comes. The video for the first single, Winding Roads, was filmed while driving from Santa Cruz to Los Angeles and the result is beautiful: natural shots of California providing an intimate look into Reed KD’s life on the road.

This isn’t an outdoor art installation, but it is still somewhat curated. Or maybe hoarded is a better description. Somewhere in the inner western suburb of Sydney’s Summer Hill, there is a brightly coloured collection of garden gnomes on display. The owner of the home is yet to be seen, but there are hundreds of gnomes, side by side, all with equally dopey expressions on their faces and accompanied by a second fixation: caterpillar soft toys. Brilliant, pathetic, awesome, sad, funny, reality, insanity. There’s not much to say about this Tumblr, just look and be amazed.
Given the amount of talent he has, it’s a mystery why German producer Pantha Du Prince not received more attention than he has. His minimal tech soundscapes are surprisingly melodic and moody, as reflected on his epic track, Asha, as good a starting point to the music of this German electro whiz as any.
