|Super hyped producers, Diplo & Switch, have joined forces as Major Lazer to record a thumping album called Guns Don’t Kill People, Lazer’s Do. Already responsible for pioneering the hottest ghetto sounds — including tracks for M.I.A and Santigold — the pair’s genre-mashing debut will be released in June on New York label, Downtown, home to Santigold, Spank Rock, and Kid Sister. We have an MP3 from the album, Hold The Line, available for free download in our Music Download section, which is in the third column of the Lost At E Minor site.

Star Wars Uncut: a fully crowdsourced version of Episode IV
The project of creative technologist, Casey Pugh, this full length version of the George Lucas masterpiece was created from multiple 15 second segments recreated from the original movie and submitted by thousands of Star Wars fans, which were then spliced together by editor Aaron Valdez to form the final product. Genius, as both a commentary on contemporary pop culture trends (there are references to LEGO, stop motion, memes and the like) and on the power of tapping your audience for quality material.
Filmmaker creates LEGO stop motion to propose to girlfriend
Now, this is one for the ages: back in 2010, Atlanta film-maker Walter Thompson created a jaw-dropping LEGO stop motion to propose to Nealey Dozier, his girlfriend of four years. The video took 22 hours of shooting and some 2,600 pictures to splice together, a small sacrifice to pay for years of happiness together. Right? Right! Oh, and she said yes. Bonus.

William Cotton’s almost photorealistic landscapes composed of gingerbread houses, candy canes, and clouds of whipped cream and cotton candy are often populated by retro-looking nudes, commenting on the fetishization of the female form. His most compelling pieces, however, have no figures at all, such as FOG, which depicts a gingerbread house veiled by a haunting, almost terrifying mist.
The problem with writing about art sometimes is that the actual image says more than words ever could. Such is the case with Craig Damrauer’s series New Math, which distills the world into simple and witty equations. Read more
Oh man, what I wouldn’t give to be able to sing like Neil Finn. His voice rasps with all the sincerity and integrity of a thousand heartfelt melodies. When you first see The Gershwin Hotel, you might think it’s an art gallery or a public art installation.
