|Pocahaunted are the pinnacle of the whole tribal, Native American-inspired, abstract, psychedelic thing that’s going on right now. The prolific duo once referred to themselves as “the Olsen twins of blissed-out drone” and have released tape after tape of ambient, hallucinatory weirdness that seems aimed at hastening the return of Quetzaquatl. Despite their tongue-in-cheek band name, Bethany Consentino and Amanda Brown compose brooding, challenging music that draws inspiration from darker, more ancient sources than Western pop and folk.

How old must Kermit be now? Not to old to collaborate with skater-friendly retailer Supreme and photographer Terry Richardson. Kermit, who usually wears nothing, has been hooked up with some new threads to advertise the brand. It seems Kermit and Terry are the perfect work partners: they’ve even released a video clip documenting the shoot.
If you come to Berlin, then I recommend this little shop, Dederon Design, specializing in stuff manufactured in, or inspired by, the former GDR (East Germany). Everything from ice cream cups to LP racks and toys. The woman running the shop even designs bags in some weird GDR-invented plastic material.
There are few more joys an artist has in life than coming across great resources for inspiration. Lately I’ve been studying typography, the meaning of words, and then something as simple as trying to find all the ’7 letter words’ I can so that it might fit into my latest musings. Read more
TheStar69 track So What Is The News is the very personification of great pop. In fact, it takes bits and pieces of the best music the The Cult, Hall & Oates and The Steve Miller Band ever recorded and messes it up with a well-honed, Scottish sense of mischief. We like.
