Crimea X’s Secret Playlist

Crimea X is the coming together of two offbeat, disparate characters, DJ Rocca (Ajello, Super Sonic Lovers, Maffia Sound System) and Jukka Reverberi from 90s Italian glam cult rockers, Giardini di Mirò, who have often have been compared with the sound of Mogwai, Arab Strap, and Godspeed You! Black Emperor. We asked them about their favourite music and they started with The Smiths song, Ask [listen below] ‘I saw them playing live on Italian TV. It was during the 80s when I was extremely young, and I’ve never stopped listening to this song’. Read the rest of Crimea X’s Secret Playlist.

Not to mention reminds me of my favorite tatoo my first I bleed for hours for permanent ink to remember I was rare and beautiful. Yet the posters beyond some girls emotional moment in time. Because when I win, all my friends will say “where did you get that?” and I’ll be able to say “lostateminor.com, its this great art and design site that clues me in to all this really great culture”, and then they’ll go to the site, and then you’ll have scores of new readers. And in that sense, if I win, EVERYONE WINS!

Life out here on the third Pulsar is rather cold except for the inter gallatic battles that continue to rage there s little to divert our attentions from the impending Nickie 521the other android lost his sound card and we had to replace it with the copy of the current U2. The pain on Nickie’s face is most unbearable. On top of that since the navigation system was crippled from the comet shower, we lost the left boost engine, he has been assigned to the repair mission and will be isolated with B-673 in the repair module until the repair will be done probably in about a weeks time if the sun spot problem doesn’t continue. N needs only what MSTRKRFT can deliver my only hope is that it can get to him in time………..

although I don’t know who mstrkrft are and i’m pretty sure a true fan should get it, but i’m a big fan of art, especially crazy hot art like this one and I never ever own someones elses art work. It would be nice see someones art on my wall. later!

Alice Donnalee said | 11 April, 2009

I am a die-hard mstrkrft fan too, and have my own stories to prove it, but i really need this poster because i have no wall art and no money to buy anything. my boyfriend let me with no money and car, and i had to move and start all over again. i have 5 part time jobs and can barely afford healthy food never mind art. i am an art lover, always perusing the web for cool art, and came across this – the design is gorgeous, it is modern, iconic, and best of all, done with the 1930s Art Nouveau period styling that is my FAVORITE period of design in history besides our modern tattoo styling – and this combines both! i would be willing to further make a case for myself if need be, thanks for the contest.

mswift said | 17 April, 2009

I would love to be able to wear the shirt in front of my design students, and make them green with envy and hang the poster on the classroom wall to inspire my students to create excellent design as depicted in the poster. i will give the CD, as a prize to the student who comes up with the best alternate poster.

Luis said | 17 April, 2009

I would love to get my hands on that prize pack, Im from Melbourne Australia, and I’ve been to see them every time they’ve come down here…they absolutely rocked my socks every time! It’d be most awesome If you would have the heart to make this little aussie from down under, the forgotten country, a very happy chappy. Give me the opportunity to show it off in an often neglected side of the globe. Cheers

As a child, I took piano exams in over-sized white rooms, on baby grand pianos that felt unfamiliar and echoed strangely as someone across the room observed me in silence. It felt clinical, intimidating and completely devoid of warmth. Last week, I started noticing upright pianos, some painted haphazardly, others respectfully untouched plonked in the most unlikely places throughout Sydney. There was one on the edge of the baby pool at the local swimming pool, with a young girl in a rainbow striped dress tapping out a happy but disjointed melody; another shaded under a tree at the park on the way home. There’s been an interesting trend recently in print and advertising work in particular away from the perfect symmetry and airbrushed cleanliness of vector art and back towards a looser form of hand-drawn illustration. I see it everywhere, from the middle pages of highbrow pop culture publications to the style sections of local broadsheets. And yet, it’s unexpected, especially so soon after the wave of vector art which swamped the print world just a few years back. Read more

This awesome promo video for the Lost At E Minor site was created by our friends over at New York-based design studio, Lifelongfriendshipsociety. It’s all about looking into a black mirror and seeing the creative energy burst back out at you. We think it’s very cool and the first in what we hope will be a series of short videos exploring what it really means to be lost at e minor. Hit us up if you’d like to have a go at creating one.

Skeletonbreath pound out some pretty raging post-punk anthems with a violin taking the lead rather than a vocalist. The trio can get surprisingly loud, despite frontman Robert Pycior’s classically trained virtuosity.
