U.S Girls

|Talk Normal, who are one of my favorite live bands right now, played the H&H Building in Baltimore last weekend, capping off their recent tour. Also on the bill was one-woman act U.S Girls. Armed with a few pedals and a tape deck, Megan Remy made desperate-sounding, louder-than-hell noise spiked with some pop elements and guitar loops. Everything about her sound and aesthetic seemed to play on the idea of alone-ness, loneliness and despair being some of the most prominent emotions expressed through the abstract yet expressive squall, yet her set-up and creative process being one of self-containment and independence — she had no band, no partners, no collaborators, and all the equipment Remy needed for her music fit into one suitcase.

These rings are handmade in Italy by Ashanti Raffaele Cinzio and come in a set of three, shaped flat and polished in a brushed finish. One sterling silver, one yellow bronze and one rose bronze. The rings individually measure 2mm height on the thin side and raise gradually around the ring to a height of 50mm to the feature side. As a set, the total band width consistently measures 7mm.
