Pillow Fight in NYC: bankers beware!
Newmindspace are holding the fourth annual pillow fight on Wall St, Manhattan, this Saturday, probably as good a place as any to randomly hit someone (or something) with a bag of filling. As the organisers say, ‘Pillows fly and fake cash soars as we converge on Wall Street. Swing and whack as you evade pillow-wielding bank executives. Bring a pillow to Wall Street and wait for the signal’.

Tattoo artist sued by ex-girlfriend for obscene design
Oh boy, this is so bizarre it could only be true. Apparently a Dayton, Ohio, tattoo artist has been slapped with a $100,000 lawsuit by his ex-girlfriend for tattooing an image of, erm, excrement with flies on her back rather than the scene from Narnia that she had requested. The reason? He’d recently found out that she had been cheating on him with one of his buddies. Damn! And here we were thinking this was the hot new look for trailer park trash crowd.

I don’t know how San Francisco artist Liz Hickok constructs her dramatic cityscapes entirely out of jelly without at least nibbling a bite out of one of the imposing facades.
Films involving characters faced with an impossible choice never make easy viewing, an example being the Nick Cave Australian gem, The Proposition. A nightclub manager, played with understated power by Joaquin Phoenix, is the victim here, and you actually feel truly uncomfortable as his predicament unfolds. Set in the 1980s, We Own The Night shows a real nostalgia for that period — particularly in the costumes. Read more

What to wear to my openings is always a difficult one. Should I dress-up or wear the paint stained clothing worn producing the work? This time my problem was solved quickly as I discovered the perfect dress from A Name Is A Label. Their pieces have a sculptural appearance, constructed predominantly from second-hand clothing. The label is about ethical, new-century awareness.
