The work of Los Angeles artist Jeana Sohn meanders like a quiet winter day. You’d think that by this point, those of us in America would all be soooo over winter by now. Heck, Sohn’s work appeals to me any day of the year. Mind you, I’m sure come the thick of an oppressive summer I’ll be grateful for anything that might be able to put me in a frostier mindset.

Despite his name, I’m guessing German illustrator Frederik Jurk must be a cool guy because his images, his limited palette and gorgeous textured line work are awesome.
I was immediately taken with the work of California artist Zack Paul. Especially the images created on various bits of driftwood and found natural objects. The most perfect backdrop to his clean, geometric images.

I don’t do yoga. I have nothing against it, but it just seems a little too new agey for me. However, if I do eventually try it, I’d like the instructor to put on Fabio Orsi’s moody, ambient, drone experiments. Using piano, guitar, percussion, field recordings, and various sampled elements, Orsi creates some beautiful, meditative pieces that, while undeniably fruity, are still weird enough to hold my interest.
