Michelle Obama plants edible garden at the White House

First Lady Michelle Obama recently announced the new plan for a 1,100 sq foot edible garden which will be placed on the south lawn of the White House. The garden will have over fifty varieties of fruits and vegetables, and will be the main source of seasonable food that the White House kitchen staff will use for family dinners, official dinners, and other events. Michelle Obama’s goal is to encourage young generations to eat healthier food and to influence their communities to do the same. But the one vegetable that won’t be in the garden? Beets. President Obama doesn’t like them.
