Paris’ L’as du Falafel
Arabic influences saturate Parisian streets, culture, art, music, and of course, food. For the greatest falafel the city has to offer, head to the Marias. Down the cobbled-stoned streets lined with boutiques and galleries, join the hipsters online at L’as du Falafel. The falafel at this small kiosk are inspiring. Flawlessly texture chickpeas — crisp on the outside, garlicky and velvety in the center — are wrapped in a warm pita and paired with a creamy hummus, refreshing cucumber yogurt, and rich roasted eggplant.
For about 6€, it is worth the wait every time. Finish it off with decadent North African-inspired sweets, peppermint tea, and traditional apple shisa, at the Mosque of Paris, with its impressive blue and white courtyard that’s straight out of Marrakech. [photo via MuffinTop]

Having originally sprung from the Shaky Isles (otherwise known as New Zealand), I can appreciate the humour in the New Zealand cartoon series, Bro Town, the first homegrown animated series to screen during local prime time. It’s simply brilliant, a real play on the ‘thuck’ accent and small town ways of our Kiwi brethren.
Disregard the buzz that surrounds those other cupcake shops in New York City. Cheeks Bakery in Williamsburg houses the best cupcakes that I’ve eaten. The clean and understated decor extends to the menu, where being fancy doesn’t rule on the cupcake shelves. Cheeks offers, simply, vanilla and chocolate cupcakes with either vanilla or chocolate cream. But if you do want more, Cheeks has that as well, a limited selection of pies and cakes.
Our friends over at Sex In Art recently posted the work of Japanese artist Aya Kato. Says Justin, the founder of the site: ‘I have this folder on my desktop titled Cool Shiat. Black Eyed Dog is the project of Fabio Parrinello, a singer-songwriter from Varese, in northern Italy. His second album, Rhaianuledada (Songs To Sissy), brims with a brooding intensity, referencing the best British folk ballads of the past.
