Paris’ L’as du Falafel
Arabic influences saturate Parisian streets, culture, art, music, and of course, food. For the greatest falafel the city has to offer, head to the Marias. Down the cobbled-stoned streets lined with boutiques and galleries, join the hipsters online at L’as du Falafel. The falafel at this small kiosk are inspiring. Flawlessly texture chickpeas — crisp on the outside, garlicky and velvety in the center — are wrapped in a warm pita and paired with a creamy hummus, refreshing cucumber yogurt, and rich roasted eggplant.
For about 6€, it is worth the wait every time. Finish it off with decadent North African-inspired sweets, peppermint tea, and traditional apple shisa, at the Mosque of Paris, with its impressive blue and white courtyard that’s straight out of Marrakech. [photo via MuffinTop]

We checked in with the exciting new illustrator James Blagden last week and followed up with him to find out what music he works to. Given the day-glo intensity of his creations, it would have to be electro remixes, right? Or deep and dishy acid rock? Nope. ‘There Stands the Glass, Wondering, More and More, and I’ll Get By Somehow, all by country legend Webb Pierce’. Huh. Read more

Silence. In this world of near constant noise and motion, it really has become a sadly neglected and undervalued commodity. Yet, as I sit, looking down on a bustling metropolis of speeding cars, people, and minds, I can’t help but wonder what impact this sensory overload will have on not just our generation, but on all those to follow.
