by Death Cab for Cutie have unveiled the awesome video for Grapevine Fires, the stand-out track on their Narrow Stairs album. The animated clip was directed by Walter Robot — the team of multimedia artist Bill Barminski and writer Christopher Louie.

Death Cab for Cutie’s Little Brides clip
The inventive video for the new Death Cab for Cutie song Little Bribes was directed by cinematographer Ross Ching, a longtime fan of the band whose interest in time-lapse photography was spurred by the Brothers On A Hotel Bed video from the band’s Directions DVD. The San Diego State University film school graduate created the Little Bribes clip on his own, which he then posted on his personal website under the heading, Looking For A Job. When members of Death Cab saw Ching’s work, they decided to release Little Bribes as the track’s official video. Ching has since been hired by Atlantic Records to helm a future video project for the label.

Tattoo artist sued by ex-girlfriend for obscene design
Oh boy, this is so bizarre it could only be true. Apparently a Dayton, Ohio, tattoo artist has been slapped with a $100,000 lawsuit by his ex-girlfriend for tattooing an image of, erm, excrement with flies on her back rather than the scene from Narnia that she had requested. The reason? He’d recently found out that she had been cheating on him with one of his buddies. Damn! And here we were thinking this was the hot new look for trailer park trash crowd.

Comedy troupe Summer of Tears edited itself into the classic ’80s movie Teen Wolf, starring Michael J. Fox, providing a new and gut-bustingly hilarious side-plot.
Sydney is not as well known for its great bars as other Australian cities. Nestled in the back streets of Surry Hills, surprisingly close to the city, The Cricketer’s Arms bucks the trend, with an open fire-place, great contemporary music selection, comfortable couches, a cosy outdoor area, decent food, free board games, and the laidback vibe that’s now all too rare in Sydney.
