The Chap
by London-based pop quartet The Chap are a sinewy, Tupperware-tight ensemble mixing and matching genres with a record collector’s ear and an ADD attention span. Their sound takes in Prince-style micro-funk, chorale singing, prog-rock guitar heroics, and minimalist electro, viciously rocking out one moment and staging dance routines the next, as this live performance of Proper Rock suggests.

Tattoo artist sued by ex-girlfriend for obscene design
Oh boy, this is so bizarre it could only be true. Apparently a Dayton, Ohio, tattoo artist has been slapped with a $100,000 lawsuit by his ex-girlfriend for tattooing an image of, erm, excrement with flies on her back rather than the scene from Narnia that she had requested. The reason? He’d recently found out that she had been cheating on him with one of his buddies. Damn! And here we were thinking this was the hot new look for trailer park trash crowd.

With waiting lists and pre-orders already taking place, there’s enough competition for this label without sharing it with the world. But what the heck. A little bit of fashion karma never goes astray. So listen up ladies. If you haven’t heard of Aussie label Maurie & Eve, you need to pay attention.
