Royksopp’s new single, Happy Up There
Royksopp’s brilliant 2002 single, Epie [below], set the sonic template for their uplifting, bouncy, and treble note based electro sound. The Norwegian group are back again with a cool video for their new single, Happy Up There, which is taken from their latest album, Junior! The clip was directed by Reuben Sutherlan.

Short film for the new Royksopp album, Senior
This short film was borne from six of the tracks on the new Royksopp album Senior and directed by Noel Paul and Stefan Moore of ThatGo. Shot on location in Detroit, Röyksopp’s Svein Berge and Tobjørn Brundtland said it left them in a ‘bewildered state, that confusing feeling one gets when exposed to something uneasy yet pleasing, after watching the final product’.
Norwegian electro-pioneers Röyksopp have recently released Senior, the counterpart to last year’s brilliant Junior. More introspective and freeform than its poppier partner, and fully instrumental, Svein Berge and Torbjorn Brundtland recorded Senior at the same time as Junior and it finds Royksopp in musical voice. Genius, as both a commentary on contemporary pop culture trends (there are references to LEGO, stop motion, memes and the like) and on the power of tapping your audience for quality material.
Filmmaker creates LEGO stop motion to propose to girlfriend
Now, this is one for the ages: back in 2010, Atlanta film-maker Walter Thompson created a jaw-dropping LEGO stop motion to propose to Nealey Dozier, his girlfriend of four years. The video took 22 hours of shooting and some 2,600 pictures to splice together, a small sacrifice to pay for years of happiness together. Right? Right! Oh, and she said yes. Bonus.

Casio Keyboard Brooklyn trio Au Revoir Simone are about to release a collection of remixes and covers their musical friends have recorded of songs found on their second album, The Bird Of Music. Titled Reverse Migration, the record features re-workings by Best Fwends, Teenagers, Darkel, and more. We caught up with them recently. Why and when did you decide to release a remix album? Annie: ‘Our friends were making so many wonderful versions of our songs we wanted to share them with the world’. How did you select the artists? Annie: ‘Mostly they were friends who told us they wanted to do remixes! Very fun and easy’. Reverse Migration is out November 11 through the band’s own label, Our Secret Record Company. This weird creature is BuBo, born in the studio of Meritxell Duran in Barcelona, Spain. Bubo is happy hanging from the shoulder, playing inside with cell phones, keys, wallets and pens, and is made of natural latex in four different colors.

In 2008, graphic designer Becky Edgington and illustrator Sarah Beetson created two limited-edition packs of playing cards featuring images from Beetson’s exhibition, 50 Bucks: Bring On The Sluts.
