Scion, pop culture magazine Giant Robot and artist Shin Tanaka have created a series of cool paper toy templates for select Giant Robot issues. Tanaka’s first template appeared in Giant Robot issue 56, which also featured an interview with the artist himself. The second template followed in issue 57, and the third is featured in issue 58, which hit the streets on February 9. Readers can cut out the templates and fold them following the simple instructions to make their own robots. Fun.

Dutch designer Sam van Veluw’s P-Tree is a pretty awesome alternative to standard port-o-potties. On top of that, it allows men to tap fulfill the primal urge to pee on trees without any of the mess. Too bad there’s no female version.

There was a time, many moons ago, when I would only listen to bands off New Zealand’s Flying Nun label. Yup, I would strap myself into a comfy chair, put my headphones on and, armed with a chunk of chocolate coated Peanut Slab and a can of L&P, soak up album after album of wonderfully self-indulgent low-fi melancholy. My friend and fine artist Sara Wolfe sent me this link of Chicago based artist Diego Leclery. He created this flash animation Panda, to celebrate the recent Beijing Olympics. He initially said he would take it down after the closing ceremony, but it is still up, so watch this cool one before it’s gone!

The Phenomenal Handclap Band is a collection of musicians and artists from Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn who perform live as an eight-member powerhouse, creating an eye-popping spectacle more akin to a spiritual church revival than a rock show. We have their single, 15 to 20, available for free download via the Music Download section of Lost At E Minor.

Do I like dogs? Yes. Do I like jumpers? Yes. Do I think WARMI’s jumpers with dogs on them are amazing? I sure do! The brand was created in 2008 by French-Colombian designer Sylvia Toth and all the clothes are hand knitted by women weavers of the villages of Tausa and Sutatausa in Colombia. Read more

Disorder Disorder in Sydney

Pitched as ‘Ulterior Motives in Contemporary Art’, Disorder Disorder is running until November 14 at Penrith Regional Gallery. It’ll be well worth the trip out west of Sydney: the Australian, Japanese, American and European cast reads like a warriors of street art roundup and includes Mike Giant, Ed Templeton, Anthony Lister [artwork above], Ozzie Wright, and Jonathan Zawada. Never ever, ever, ever, ever park here

Some friendly advice for the neighbours, who simply don’t get it, or street art? You decide which one it is.

Inside this sea urchin shell is an organic perfume made from grapefruit and basil essential oils. This bottle, designed by Stephanie Simek, is refillable and is packaged in a wooden box decorated with a satin photograph and padded with slices of exfoliating loofah sea sponges. The Honeymoon-themed fragrance is all natural: made from plant-based oils and contains no alcohol or chemicals. We like. Read more
