Despite his name, I’m guessing German illustrator Frederik Jurk must be a cool guy because his images, his limited palette and gorgeous textured line work are awesome.
I was immediately taken with the work of California artist Zack Paul. Especially the images created on various bits of driftwood and found natural objects. The most perfect backdrop to his clean, geometric images.

Benjamin Duke depicts insane landscapes busy with catastrophic car crashes, birthing mothers, smarmy twenty-somethings, and heartfelt human interaction. His work speaks to the overload of information in our culture, right down to the choice of canvas size – some of his paintings are as tall as eight feet, dominating the gallery space – yet there is a beauty to his economic brush strokes and dazzling pallette that leaves a strong impression on the viewer. It goes without saying that Hip Hop has taken a few very low hits in the past decade. Thanks to the likes of 50 Cent and company, it accounts for around 40% of all music sold in America.
