A-Trak’s Nike Original Run album
In conjunction with A-Trak’s Nike Original Run album, Running Man, Serato has produced a limited edition 12″ vinyl picture disc, with artwork designed by Dust La Rock. We have two copies to giveaway to LAEM subscribers who leave a message under this post saying why they really want one.
Nike+ Sport Music and Serato White Label Delivery Network are proud to announce the first official 12” control vinyl picture-disc that celebrates DJ A-Trak’s debut album Running Man: Nike+ Original Run.
Adding another layer of “I gotta’ have this!” to the mix, custom artwork from the Brooklyn-based artist Dust La Rock graces the disc. The design features Dust La Rock’s newly-iconic “Mr. A” figure, lifted from the cover of the A-Trak Original Run album.
As A-Trak explains, “It’s the first official Serato picture disk on their Whitelabel.net label. I used to test out their beta version way before it was available commercially – so now it all came full circle.”
Only 1,000 promo pieces of the limited-edition control vinyl picture discs were manufactured. The majority of these will be shipped worldwide to Serato and Whitelabel.net DJs, while a holdback of 50 discs will be exclusively avail through select online partners.
The collaboration also features downloads from the Running Man: Nike+ Original Run album available at www.whitelabel.net, including the single “Say Whoa” and the exclusive single “My Time” w/ Kid Cudi.
Running Man: Nike+ Original Run is available exclusively in the Nike Sport Music section of the iTunes Store for $9.99. Purchase it here.

Crimea X is the coming together of two offbeat, disparate characters, DJ Rocca (Ajello, Super Sonic Lovers, Maffia Sound System) and Jukka Reverberi from 90s Italian glam cult rockers, Giardini di Mirò, who have often have been compared with the sound of Mogwai, Arab Strap, and Godspeed You! Black Emperor. We asked them about their favourite music and they started with The Smiths song, Ask [listen below] ‘I saw them playing live on Italian TV. It was during the 80s when I was extremely young, and I’ve never stopped listening to this song’. Read the rest of Crimea X’s Secret Playlist.

Am framing this and putting it on my son’s (he’s 2.5 yrs) wall.
When he’s old enough to ask ‘what the?’ he can break it open ‘in case of emergency’ style and start carving it up our turn tables…. you know it!

Instead of demolishing the old Paddington Reservoir, architects TZG have incorporated into the design a new outdoor public garden in Paddington, Sydney. The results are stunning, with the nineteenth century structures providing an amazing starting point. Looking less like a garden and more like an overgrown ancient city, with the remnants of historic walls and vaults, this new public space is well worth frequent visits.

A lot of people have asked us where the name Lost At E Minor comes from and what the phrase implies. Well, several years ago I came across a compilation of obscure electro music called Famous When Dead, which is off the commendably experimental German label, Playhouse. One of the tracks on the album was by the production duo, Light Fantastic, and was titled Lost At C Minor. Read more
Sometimes tests are just too hard. Sometimes they’re just dumb. Funny Exam Answers collects all the funniest and most ridiculous results of students who may not have book smarts, but are quite clever and creative in other ways.
Sparks’ album Kimono My House is a demented mix of hard rock, pop, glam, new wave, and baroque pop. Why this record never caught on in the States I’ll never know. The songs will get stuck in your head and prevent you from sleeping. Oh yeah, and the keyboard player has a nice mustache too, as evidenced by this track above — This Town Ain’t Big Enough.
Though most people in the West think of mahjong as a mysterious game old Chinese people play, it’s actually gets quite rowdy when people get together to play it. Rowdy is certainly a good adjective for Mahjongg, the exquisitely danceable electro-whatever outfit from Chicago who draw as much from Afrobeat as they do vocoder-laden sleaze rock from the 70s.
