by Youtube have created an interactive version of Street Fighter that’s playable straight off their website. You click on the flashing buttons that crop up on the side of the video and then, somehow, your opponent is suddenly pulverised with a flying headbutt, or whatever else takes your fancy.

Young British designer Adam Farlie takes a leftfield approach to how people experience interaction with objects, often taking everyday items and toying with their potential to harbour deeper meaning and greater usage than first perceived. He transforms a bed into a ‘vessel that captures and contains the audio-memories of past occupiers through sound’, allowing those who lie on the bed to recall past intimcaties or conversations from years ago, while his take on a chest of drawers’ purpose of holding records of people is similarly intriguing.

A new website has just sprung up, offering a platform for rising independent filmmakers to network and exhibit their work. Material on Indieroad is reviewed and chosen by a panel of professionals, and visitors can stream and download direct from the site for a small fee – one third of the profits will go straight to the filmmaker. From January 15, they’ll be partnering with the Slamdance Film Festival to provide an online portal to the films showcased there.
