The International Whistling Convention
So, after a brief hiatus, my whistling protoge and I finally met up last week to record a demo for him to enter into the International Whistling Convention to be held in North Carolina in April. Oh boy! The kid has some talent, hitting sweet, sweet highs, and then wobbling those end notes with all the finesse and style of a master jello maker. We recorded three songs — Old Man, Plush, Norwegian Wood (hey, who said we weren’t with the times, man!) — and now he has his demo all ready to go, the next step is to get those forms in and practice, practice, practice. Where are we going? To the Toppermost of the Poppermost of the whistling world, of course. Now, where can I insure those damn tonsils of his?

Wow! Seriously. He sounds pretty amazing, and you two make a great duo. Love it Zolt! Can’t wait to follow this all the way to the Toppermost of the Poppermost!

Man, that is so cool. I’ve always been envious of anyone who can warble their whistle!

My 4 year old daughter has totally fallen for that gorgeous whistling… She’s roaming the house trying her hardest to whistle as I write!

Beautiful whistling. I love my whistling, but now have new heights to aspire to.
Zolt – can your protege write a post on the ins and outs of whistling like he does? I’m wanting to know his tips and tricks and how he got to where he is today.
