Origin
by I must say, I’m generally not into tech metal or unnecessarily complicated riffage, but Origin manages to be intensely expressive (as metal should be) without being overly showy with their musical prowess. Yes, their intricate guitar lines and dizzyingly precise drumming is as technical as technical gets, but this is still heavy, straight-faced, no bullshit death metal, unlike bands like PsyOpus and Into the Moat, who make me want to shove a football somewhere you’re not supposed to shove a football.
