This video is so cool. Our friends over at the Amsterdam-based SubmarineChannel, an online portal for, and about, global digital media, have this animnated piece up called Molotov Alva and His Search for the Creator. It’s just brilliant, and one of many interesting interviews and animations that the SubmarineChannel host on their Vimeo page.

A visually stunning short 3D-animated film directed by Antoine Perez, Celine Desrumaux, Francois Pons and Gary Levesque. Yankee Gal took a year to complete and was produced at the always formidable French computer graphics school, Supinfocom.
Not to be confused with the MTV Oddities series of the same name, this short by Argentine artist Matias Vigliano features some really nice hand-drawn animation.

A collection of classic Flying Nun music videos
My favourite record label, the New Zealand-based Flying Nun — home to seminal acts such as The Chills, The Bats, The Clean, and The Verlaines — has been reinvigorated recently with the return of the label’s founder, Roger Shepherd, to steer the reigns and return this wonderful low-fi cottage industry back to its rightful glory. To mark the occasion, NZ On Screen has launched a collection of classic Flying Nun music videos, curated by Shepherd, including this frightfully progressive effort (it was made in 1981) from that doyen of Kiwi indie-pop, Chris Knox.
Ok, so these mightn’t be quite as cool as the real deal, but they’re the next best thing, and sometimes, well, that’ll just have to do. Designed by Hector Serrano, Animal Hands and Monster Hands are temporary tattoos for your hands. Perfect for your next night big out on the town. Read more

This beautiful necklace was handmade in Italy by Anna Lodi, who designed each original necklace from original Italian sheet music. She has adopted a paper-mache technique to create each bead, which is encapsulated by transparent glass-based resin. Read more
