Scour, a new way of searching the net

Have you heard about Scour yet? If not you will. It is quickly emerging as the most serious competitor to the Google search engine, with an approach based on votes and comments from users focusing on relevance. It delivers search results from Google, Yahoo and MSN, and the best feature is that each time you search, vote or comment, you receive points which can be exchaged for VISA gift cards. Sour gives you one point for each search, two points for each vote and three points for each comment. With around 6,500 points, you will receive a $25 VISA gift card. Not bad for doing something you’re doing now anyway for free.

The Take It Easy experience in Barcelona

Two months ago, a very special and unique place opened in Barcelona: TAKE IT EASY, an anti-stress space. It is aimed at workers with only short time after lunch to take the famous siesta. And all for just five Euros. Regada asks each customer to write down a phrase or word after taking the nap and each week he selects one as a banner in the front window of the space. Read more

When I was a kid, I loved drawing haunted houses. I made little miniature ones out of construction paper and cardboard. I never thought to cover them in dough and allowing them to grow mold as Spanish artist Daniele Del Nero has. So gloriously creepy and gross. Read more

Everything about illustrator Bradford Haubrich’s work feels charmingly handmade. Even his website has a lovely sketched feel to it. My sense is that this is a guy who just loves to sketch and doodle and who can’t resist a single surface in his path because it’s just what he does.

Oh, ok, so now I’ve seen it all. Or perhaps, in this case, I’m not seeing enough. Japanese game shows are so much fun. Seriously.

I’m a wheat-free guy, and though I’ve never been into sweets, I love Sweet Sin, the only gluten-free bakery in Baltimore. Aside from their wheatless treats, they also serve a wide range of savory meals such as snapper, goat, and greens.

A project of my producer and drummer, Tucker Martine, Mount Analog’s soundscapes are gorgeous, melty mixes of organic and processed sounds. Martine brings the best musicians together to create strange and beautiful music.

This t-shirt is doing the rounds on Facebook profiles and Tweets at the moment. And rightly so! Artists worldwide, be proud of your profession, value your work, and proclaim it loud and clear.
