Annie Leibovitz: Life Through A Lens
by Most striking about this biography is just how many iconic images Annie Leibovitz has produced over the last 30 years. Her career started with Rolling Stone and has since involved musicians, models, actors and wars – combining to form a catalogue of some of the most important people and events in recent history. This film gives insights into the creative process, explaining how Leibovitz’s photography has evolved, making her a singularly special talent. The film crew even follows a few of Leibovitz’s current shoots, showing the expense she incurs chasing that elusive shot, and the way she orders around stars. Among her work, Leibovitz took the nude photograph of a pregnant Demi Moore and the last photographs of John Lennon. Photography remains the focus of this film, her personal life, including a long-lasting lesbian relationship, briefly and succinctly examined.

I almost forgot — metal is really about being drunk, pissed, offensive, and satanic. I have Bestial Mockery to thank for this. Their no-frills black thrash is barebones and snarling without being too dead-pan serious. These guys from Sweden are clearly having a blast worshiping the Dark One in the tradition of old-school bands like Venom, early Bathory, and Sodom. Nothing too original here, but it’s fun as hell.
