Meg Hunt’s vivacious style
Arizona illustrator Meg Hunt creates some seriously fun artwork, the kind of stuff I would have drooled over as a kid and still consider the bees knees at my current mature age, the kind of work that really takes me to my happy happy place. Dense patterns, and more patterns, texture and color abound throughout her lively illustrations. With a childlike aesthetic, further emphasized by her playful choice of subject matter, you just can’t help but smile when you stumble across her vivacious illustrations.

Despite his name, I’m guessing German illustrator Frederik Jurk must be a cool guy because his images, his limited palette and gorgeous textured line work are awesome.
I was immediately taken with the work of California artist Zack Paul. Especially the images created on various bits of driftwood and found natural objects. The most perfect backdrop to his clean, geometric images.

The uber-hip French producer M83 has compiled a Secret Playlist for us in which he props Brian Eno, Julee Cruise, and Tears For Fears’ Head Over Heels: ‘This song was the biggest influence for my new album. Yellow Fever are a great duo from Austin that harkens back to the girl-fronted indie bands of the 90s. At times Breeders-ish, at others referencing garag-y sounds from other eras, their simple and heartfelt songs remind us of why we all thought mismatched Converse and unkempt androgyny was so cool in the first place.

Pencils made from recycled newspaper
The problem with awesome things like these pencils made out of recycled newspaper is that you almost don’t want to use them.
Using Kyoko Hashimoto’s popular design, these acrylic earrings are made with unique hand formed sterling silver sleepers that make them light enough for everyday wear. Part of Kyoko’s collection, I Blame the Uni, (pronounced ‘oo-nee’, the Japanese name for sea urchin) and inspired by her experiences in the underground club scene of Tokyo. Read more
