Laibach
Laibach are an unusual industrial band from Slovenia that blurs the line between just-kidding and dead-pan serious. They’re kind of a hybrid of Borat (the singer has a ridiculous moustache and their videos are purposefully cheap-looking) and Rammstein (they sound like the German band at its darkest and most martial sounding). They’re simply unclassifiable, and even if you don’t love their music, they’re fascinating to watch.

Laibach predate Rammstein by about 14 years, having been formed in what was then Yugoslavia shortly after the death of Tito. The videos for their earlier material (including a cover of Sympathy For The Devil and Queen’s One Vision), whilst being tongue-in-cheek, usually featured prominent Slovenian national symbols at a time when nationalism was proscribed, as well subversive use of totalitarian imagery in what was still a communist country..

Sufjan Stevens creates autistic music for introverts — soft, shy, naive, full of shadows, windows, and insecurities. Yet it all sounds slightly forced, his enigmatic songwriting as comforting as it is unsettling.
On those rare occasions when I feel the need to treat myself to an absolutely mind (and wallet) blowing meal, I love to come here. The restaurant is housed in an old diner (the old trailer style diners) which makes for some fun ambiance. Plus, the menu changes every week, so there’s never a written menu. The waiter comes out with a pen and writes the entire menu down on the butcher paper covering your table. Aside from all that, the food is absolutely unbelievable!
We invited Greg Gillis, aka Girl Talk, who aside from being the DJ of the moment is also the remix whiz behind tracks from Beck, Tokyo Police Club, and Grizzly Bear, to give us a rundown on the songs he’s wearing out right now for our sister site, My Secret Playlist. He started off by propping Beyonce’s anthemic single, Single Ladies [listen below]. Go figure! ‘This is one of my favorite Beyonce tracks ever. Camper Together fuses the references and inspirations from Willhelm latest collection with Campers’ quality production techniques. Most popular is sure to be Willhelms’ take on the gladiator, with sandals constructed of ribbons and piping.
