Gareth Pugh
Gareth Pugh is from England, is 25, and has been shaking up the fashion scene from London to New York since Fall 2006 when he sent his models down the runway in ruffles, Doc Martens and face paint. Continuing to be creative with his shows, this year his designs are radical and have a dark humor that makes them surprisingly wearable. Pugh has been featured in American Vogue and W, and even worked with fashion genius Rick Owens. His spring collection uses leather and black hosiery. The hosiery is my favorite. You can use it to layer under dresses, jackets, shorts and skirts.

Ivory Skies is a small t shirt label fresh out of London offering a point of difference in the very over crowded printed tee market. All their shirts are based on rare ancient artwork printed on nicely fitting white tees. Co-founder and designer, Carlo Salanitri, describes the label as ‘a rare style representation of the mystical past blended with today’s indie street fashion‘. Ivory Skies has made big inroads since its creation with agents across Europe and a lot of interest from Australia and America. Read more

Her range has so many innovative designs, without the stripes on the lenses like the Kayne West glasses sold at every street vendor in the village. Linda Farrow has the most fabulous vintage shades, and the collaboration between her and House of Holland is a gem in a sea of sunnies.

Chicago’s Cheer Accident started as a post-no-wave weirdo band typical of the Skin Graft roster, but of late, they’ve been doing some unrestrained pop and rock. They even have harmonized vocals and an occasional horn. This isn’t to say they’re commercializing – their songs are just as complex as ever, and there’s still a hint of discordance beneath the shimmering new sound.
