Andrew Holder is a hidden secret. With an impressive client list and a fantastic website, there isn’t nearly enough press surrounding the Californian-based artist. Using his amazing eye for both colour and form, he creates dramatic illustrations from basic block shapes. The use of gradients, pattern as texture and offbeat colours create real depth.

New York artist Louise Belcourt works out of a studio in Brooklyn where she paints with a ‘strong emphasis on line, color and texture, of forms and surfaces brushing up against one another, almost kissing, or pulling apart. Branches and limbs reach out, spread, and sprout new growth. Small buds appear. There is sense of wide-open space, but filled with activity and life’.
Musicians in Jacksonville, Florida, often plop themselves amongst breakfasting families to nurse their hangovers at the Fox Restaurant. Definitely sugar for the brain. I was rather dreary-eyed this morning but upon looking at the illustrations of Chris, I feel a little bit more… hyper!
