Trends / Introducing our ‘guest’ writers
We’ve been featuring some interesting guest contributors on Lost At E Minor over the past six months — some of our favorite musicians and artists — all of whom have written about art, photography, music, fashion, places and faces that are exciting them right now. Included among our guest writers are Angus Andrews, from The Liars, Ben Lee (who wrote about his festish for vintage Rolexes, amongst other things), Brendan Canning from Broken Social Scene, designer Deanne Cheuk, artist Sam Weber, singer-songwriter Laura Veirs (who brought Juana Molina to our attention), and Tegan from Tegan and Sara [above]. And there’s lots more to come!

So, here’s an idea: ‘I got a writer — a long time partner in collaboration, Katherine Danks — to write me a short story, with the knowledge that I was going to add images to it. I’ve taken the story and produced three separate books — one typographic, one illustrated and one photographic. The exhibition space has three chairs, with a book at each chair. The viewer is invited to sit and read each book, then give feedback on how the different treatments affected their reading of the story’. This is the project of Sydney-based creative Zoe Sadokierski whose ‘Sundays’ exhibition is running during March at the Dab Lab at the UTS gallery space. Read more

‘Some people call me the space cowboy, some call me the gangster of love, some people call me Maurice, cause I speak with the pompetus of love’. The pompetus of love?! Really. I don’t know what the heck Steve Miller was on the day he wrote that, but I could sure do with some now. Read more

Given the amount of talent he has, it’s a mystery why German producer Pantha Du Prince not received more attention than he has. His minimal tech soundscapes are surprisingly melodic and moody, as reflected on his epic track, Asha, as good a starting point to the music of this German electro whiz as any.
