Sonotipo
Sonotipo is a Buenos Aires-based band that produce a smooth combination of pop, rock and electronic music. Somewhat dark and melancholic, their music has a sweet beat to it that makes you want to dance all night long. Ciro Cavalotti and Sebastian Quintana are the musicians behind it, with guest musicians such as the Argentinian legend Daniel Melero.

Fernanda Cohen solo show in Argentina
I opened a solo show at the prestigious Centro Cultural Borges in Buenos Aires on Thursday. Called Water Makes Me Wet, the exhibition runs until the end of the month. I also just finished a set of window displays for high-end, Argentine fashion designer, Martin Churba, which opened last week. This clip had such an impact on me when it first came out, back in the day. There’s just something so poignant about the idea that some people you pass on the street everyday have a little bit more insight into their world — our world — than we could ever imagine. It’s beautiful and confronting, and it’s all set to the most wonderfully evocative music.
The frontman for Sydney trailblazers, Paper Scissors, has just dropped his first solo EP under the alias of Pork Pies, and it’s an absolute beaut. Like the Paper Scissors’ more low-key numbers, there’s a real feeling of raw nostalgia running through the record. Jai Pyne’s distinctive vocals linger on your eardrums for a while after they’ve ceased, anchored down by a poignancy and sense of longing.

This is one of the best bands I’ve ever heard. I’m from Argentina and I love their pop dark music. They are a pearl from Buenos Aires Underground scene.
