I’m a big fan of toys, not all toys, but cute, adult-adaptable toys. The Germusu pouch is a good example of that: it’s small enough to sit in my pocket, large enough to keep all my change, and funky enough to make me look cool. Plushform release and custom show
The first-ever do-it-yourself designer plush toy based on the popular Wee Ninja character shape is set for release as over 60 artists show off custom Plushform art works in one mega-event called Plushform to be held tomorrow night (June 27) at Rotofugi Designer Toy Store and Gallery in Chicago. The name is clever (it did take me a while to get it though) and the concept is great. Crammed Organisms is the world largest plush show at which you’ll be able to pick up a designer soft toy for the display shelf. Don’t worry, though, whatever you pick up will never replace your old teddy bear from childhood that you secretly hide behind your pillows when your mates come over to your place for a beer.

Very few band reunions get me excited, but I’ve consistently loved Faith No More since I was 13. I loved their pre-Mike Patton era, I loved King for a Day, and I even loved their track with Boo Yah Tribe on the Judgment Night soundtrack. Kerrang recently hinted that a FNM reformation is in the works for ‘09, and though bassist Billy Gould has emphatically denied the rumors, the general consensus is that the reunion is on.
Grace is part of a new series of books by author Dale Cusack. The story chronicles the lives of Grace and her feline companion Boot in their struggle to fight the evil Drawl and the cover illustration was done by Auckland-based artist, and Lost At E Minor contributor, Dennis Juan Ma. We asked him about what shaped the colour choices for the piece: ‘I wanted to create a mystery world within the reality. I wanted the colour to encourage readers to stimulate their imagination. I illustrated the covers with a classical Japanese wood block look to show the oriental flavour of the cat’s world. And it just happens that I’m a wood block art fan’. Read more
