Born and raised in New York, the boys of Pegleg have been designing their collection out of their downtown apartment since their freshman year of college. Their designs are innovative and casual, with hats, tees, pants, and sweatshirts.

It’s summer in New York, it’s sunny, and I’m bored of my everyday pair of sunnies. But who has the glasses for me? Designer Linda Farrow does! Her range has so many innovative designs, without the stripes on the lenses like the Kayne West glasses sold at every street vendor in the village. Linda Farrow has the most fabulous vintage shades, and the collaboration between her and House of Holland is a gem in a sea of sunnies.

Never mind assembly soldiers. London-based artist Wayne Chisnall turned himself into a ‘twelve-piece, pre-assembly, model kit’ for an upcoming exhibition at Scream Gallery.
Our bass player bought a Hamboards longboard for the Summer and, man, it looks cool. It’s really old school and a very smooth ride. It makes Finland feel like California for a while. Hamboards is a family business with a loveable DIY-attitude.
Seldom has black humour been done so well. On the surface, this film about the everyday lives of some unusually mundane characters, sounds extraordinarily boring. But it is instead a cutting comment on the absurdity and drudgery of everyday life. The characters try to break out or change their lives without success, and the results are bleak and hilarious. What If H.R.Giger, Miquel Barcelo and a seasick alien got really drunk and decide to decorate a Pizzeria? The answer is the U Costella Pizzeria in the heart of Prague. And if the visual experience is not enough for you, they sometimes have the Gipsy Kings as background music.
This has to be one of the best design websites going around. The greatest part of the website is how you can filter design by colour. Mix and match a couple of colours and BANG! It will show you all the designs that utilize them.
The nice thing about black metal is that it’s so hard for it to be co-opted. Between its often extreme ideologies and its inherently abrasive sound, it’s hard to imagine anyone trying to sell you a pair of sneakers with it. Even as some bands like Dimmu Borgir and Cradle of Filth have wormed their way into the mainstream, the vast majority of black metal fans and bands out there are happy to stay in the filthy pits of the underground. The scientists explored the surface of our moon until they stood facing the foreboding presence of The Lunar Crystal. The two men stood in awe of the crystal’s existence. They stared without tact; oblivious to the inquisitive voices on the other end of their earpieces.

Pitched as ‘Ulterior Motives in Contemporary Art’, Disorder Disorder is running until November 14 at Penrith Regional Gallery. It’ll be well worth the trip out west of Sydney: the Australian, Japanese, American and European cast reads like a warriors of street art roundup and includes Mike Giant, Ed Templeton, Anthony Lister [artwork above], Ozzie Wright, and Jonathan Zawada. My friend Josh Van Horne, a local Baltimore artist, did this amazing mural in our neighborhood that depicts the history of this warehouse-laden area.
