WE'RE THINKING

It was the amazing illustrations, bold and bright, whimsically wrapping humble olive oil canisters that first caught my eye. As I began to dig deeper and learn more about this limited edition series, it was the concept that had me sold. Each of the 1,000 gift boxes created in this collection holds three beautiful containers of stunning olive oil: one from Portugal, another from Spain, and the last from Italy. Read more

Bringing statistics to life is not particularly easy, but this website does so with a creative brilliance. Using interactive animation and videos, you can look at a wide ranging set of sustainable global development data as the numbers change across space and and time. It promotes a statistically-founded world view, and somehow makes that fun.

WE'RE LISTENING TO

Tyr are a great Viking metal band from the Faroe Islands, a tiny nation between Greenland and the British Islands. They sing in Faroese, Danish, and English, crafting amazingly catchy songs inspired by Dream Theater, mid-era Metallica, and Black Sabbath.

WE'RE WEARING

If only we could swap out every ubiquitous North Face jacket that sits tight on the weather-beaten frames of far too many Manhattanites for one of these wonderful creations by Japanese artist, Kosuke Tsumura. The city would be that much more of an interesting place. Called Final Home, this parka has 44 zippered pockets and is part of Tsumura’s collection of ‘post-apocalyptic streetwear’, designed as a respite — and insulation — from the stresses of modern urban living.
