Rod Hunt’s colourful cityscapes
I love the vitality of Rod Hunt’s illustration work. The London-based illustrator has ‘built a reputation for retro tinged work and detailed character filled landscapes with UK and international clients in publishing, design, advertising and new media’. Most notably, he illustrated the cover of Change The World 9 To 5, the best selling environmental book by We Are What We Do. Read more
London illustrator Simon Brader’s work is innovative and full of topical innuendo. I love his colour choices in particular, the soft watery washes blending energetically with the more stubborn, edgy textures.
This illustration by Colette Elson was done for the Lady Luck Rules OK boutique in London’s East End, which she is doing a bit of work for.

Crimea X is the coming together of two offbeat, disparate characters, DJ Rocca (Ajello, Super Sonic Lovers, Maffia Sound System) and Jukka Reverberi from 90s Italian glam cult rockers, Giardini di Mirò, who have often have been compared with the sound of Mogwai, Arab Strap, and Godspeed You! Black Emperor. We asked them about their favourite music and they started with The Smiths song, Ask [listen below] ‘I saw them playing live on Italian TV. JaniceJ’s illustrations are very retro yet still has the coolness to them. Her line drawings are one of my favourites. And the splash of vibrant colours is absolutely genius.
