Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec
I work from home, and as much as I like using the laptop on the sofa, my posture won’t be thanking me for it when I’m 70. If I had the finances and a place of my own I’d be furnishing it with products from French design duo, brothers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec. They won New Designer Awards in the International Furniture Fair of New-York in 1999 as well as a gathering a huge list of other credits to their name. They’ve also designed a great looking studio chair called ‘worknest’ which I’m sure could encourage me to stay at my desk. Should I splash out? Maybe when I’m famous.

Maree Horner’s Furniture of the World
New Zealand designer Maree Horner likes to drop old donkeys into children’s swimming pools to trigger her subconscious process. In Furniture of the World, a human belly appears from inside a bucket; others rest in a suitcase, a box or bin. Her images are like modern Rubik cubes of male and female genitalia. Read more

I can tell how much I like a designer by the the speed at which I bookmark their site. With Rob Lowe (aka Supermundane), it was on the home page. That’s a pretty good sign. Supermundane is a multi-disciplined creative who impressively creates all text himself for every project he does. Prepare yourself to be jealous.

Italian brand Brionvega has resurrected the classy Radiofonografio piece first created in 1965. The updated version is just like the original turntable/radio unit, but also has a CD/DVD player.
After more than ten years using Photoshop, illustrator Daniel Mackie has abandonned it in favor of pencil and watercolour. Recently winning Best in Book in the Creative Review Illustration Annual 2011, judge Kuchar Swara said: ‘I was really impressed with the level of detail and attention to the figure and its distortions of scale’. All of Mackie’s illustrations are now hand-drawn and painted on 300gsm Saunders watercolour paper. Read more
