John Malloy’s graphic novel
Illustrator and artist John Malloy has been working on a graphic novel called Channel One and, without wanting to sound too much like Paris Hilton, it’s looking pretty damn hot. Update! As of July 2009, John Malloy has aborted the graphic novel Channel One to focus more on other projects, including his autobiographical graphic novel, Queasy. Stay tuned for details.

Crimea X is the coming together of two offbeat, disparate characters, DJ Rocca (Ajello, Super Sonic Lovers, Maffia Sound System) and Jukka Reverberi from 90s Italian glam cult rockers, Giardini di Mirò, who have often have been compared with the sound of Mogwai, Arab Strap, and Godspeed You! We asked New York photographer Christoph Morlinghaus about the process behind capturing one his of stunning architectural and interior shots: ‘More often than not my time at a certain location is extremely limited. For example, for the shots that I took at Terminal 5, there was no access before the shoot day and I had a very short time window between the construction crews finishing and cleaning the terminal and the TSA clearing it. So I just switched to autopilot, mounted my 8 x 10 on a dolly, and literally ran through the building and took pictures. Even if I have more time, I try to work as quickly as I can. When I spend too much time at a certain place, the images tend to be too pretentious and artsy’. There’s an exclusive interview with Christoph Morlinghaus on the Feature Shoot website.
Belgian architect Vincent Callebaut is an award-winning designer with varied projects. This one, entitled The Lilypad, is nothing short of amazing. It’s an eco-city, floating on water, with the ability to accommodate upwards of 50,000 people. If built as designed, this structure (which uses most, if not all, available environmental technologies) would sustainably produce more power than it would consume.

Chester French are Ivy League prep boys from Massachusetts who have mastered an interesting Beatlesque sound tinged with Motown influences. When, in May 2007, the duo — D.A. and Max — completed their recording and their degrees (in African American Studies and Social Anthropology respectively), they were snapped up by Pharrell Williams’ label Star Trak.
