Just what goes on behind the closed doors of the adidas design studios has been anyone’s guess,’til now. Yes, these sport loving, fashion luminaries from Portland, Oregon have pulled back the curtain for the first time ever to reveal just what it is like to work for one of sports super-brands. In this unique window into adidas’ creative world, you will find blogs that discuss anything from bras made of toilet paper to the next generation of sporting gloves and football cleats. For any aspiring vanguards of distinct design, you are also able to submit your portfolio — regardless of whether your creative pallet be tennis chic, street ball fresh, olympic cool or urban polish. Oh, and you might just land yourself a dream job.

Papercraft steak

Seeing as rising food and fuel prices may make steak an unattainable luxury for all but the wealthiest people in the future, it’s good to know that at least there will be papercraft steaks to fill that sucking void that will be left on our plates, much the way poverty-stricken peasants in inland China used to have wooden fish on the table during banquets. There’s a raw version and a cooked version available for download, along with a side of carrots, a plate, and even paper silverware.

Harvey Milk

Named after the first openly gay politician in US history, Harvey Milk make some rather testosterone-heavy tunes. While appealing mostly to the stoner-rock and indie-metal set, the quintet from Athens, Georgia, aren’t afraid of a little melody, as the almost pop track Motown on their latest album, Life … the Best Game in Town, proves. But more often than not, the band gets down and dirty with some knuckle-dragging sludge rock. Amid the haze of searing guitar squeals, menacing power chords, and seismic bass rumbling, though, are some almost math-rock flourishes that hint at the brains behind the brawn.

Cameron Hayes

The intricate, surrealist paintings of Australian artist Cameron Hayes recall the work of Hieronymus Bosch in scale and detail, but the actual style of his images draws a lot from children’s books and folk art. The cheerful and dreamlike quality of his pieces contrasts with the seriousness of the topics he engages — his most recent show at the Ronald Feldman Gallery in New York tackles the impact of colonialism on his native country.
