Nowadays it seems that the best viewing is on the internet, not TV. Though Vice magazine tends to be mostly fashion and trendsetting, Vice TV happens to be worldy and informative. It’s mostly comprised of documentaries but incorporates artists as presenters and programmers. [see also the Portable Film Festival]

As I was admiring the lovely painting of Dutch artist Helen Verhoeven, I began to notice some strange things popping up. As I continued to look, the bizarre overall nature of her work really began to dawn on me. Looking at these early in the morning while waiting for that first pot of coffee to brew, Verhoeven’s paintings leave me wondering if I’ve really woken up from my dreams yet. Schmidt, Hammer and Lassen’s design for the Copenhagen national library is a celebrated structure in the already glittering design portfolio of northern Europe. The marble and glass façade of The Black Diamond (yes, that is what their national library is called) is an example of architectural brilliance, with even the angled walls designed to best mirror the city’s beautiful canals.

I can’t make it to the Renaissance Festival this year, but this little flash game has been helping me let off some steam with some ‘olde’-fashioned fun. The object of the game is to destroy castles by aiming a catapult. You can even build your own castle!
